€400 Monthly Tax Free Payment For Hosting Ukrainians

On the 26th of July, the Department of Children, Equality, Disability Integration and Youth published a press release announcing the opening of the application process for the €400 Accommodation Recognition Payment.

Approximately 37,500 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland since the conflict broke out in March 2022. This came at a time when Ireland was suffering a severe shortage of suitable accommodation.

With this new scheme, it is hoped that many Irish homes will open up their spare rooms to the women and children of Ukraine.
