AI technology is here to stay; we will all be better off embracing it and seeing how it can improve our work.
The blogging space has been hugely disrupted by AI tools such as Jasper AI, which can really help people churn out way more blog posts and help breeze through the monotonous parts of writing much more quickly.
In this blog post, I will look at how best to use Jasper AI when writing on Medium.
There is money to be made on Medium.com if you can get enough traction on your posts. The very first post I ever wrote on Medium.com generated $136.55 in revenue, which wasn’t bad for less than an hour of work.
The problem that most people find is that they don’t have the time to consistently post stories.
This is where an AI tool such as Jasper AI can come in very handy. Why not try it out for free for a couple of days and see how you get on?
The Correct way to use Jasper AI when writing Medium.com stories
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that Jasper AI can do all the work for you.
Jasper AI will only get you so far; on its own, AI will not result in high-quality content. You will still need to form the ideas, lay out the post, and put your stamp and voice on the story.
Here are a couple of ways that Jasper can be used to improve content:
- Intro and Conclusion – often the hardest part
- FAQ Generator – optimise your blog post for search by generating multiple FAQs to add to the bottom of your content.
- Content Improver – take existing paragraphs you have written and get suggestions that will improve them.
One of the biggest benefits I found by using Jasper AI was how much time it saved me. Previously, writing a post on Medium would take me between 45-60 minutes. With the aid of Jasper AI, I can actually manage to do a post sub 30 minutes quite easily.
Does using AI tools violate Medium’s policies?
You will only be in breach of the policies of Medium.com when using AI writing tools if your content is judged to be duplicate content which causes copyright issues.
Before you post anything on Medium.com, to be prudent, you could always run the post through a plagiarism checker to give yourself peace of mind that the AI tools are not causing you to breach any copyright rules.
You should also be aware of the different types of content that are prohibited on Medium, such as; graphic content, exploitation of miners, Promotion and glorification of self-harm, etc.
Why I would never use Jasper AI for my personal blog
When it comes to writing on a personal blog, I am far less likely to use a tool like Jasper AI for a couple of reasons, the main reason being that I want to stay on the right side of Google.
Google is constantly rolling out updates to clean up the SERPs and attempts to penalise content that, at the end of the day, isn’t helpful or useful for users.
If your website gets hit badly by a Google update, then that could be enough to completely wipe out most of your traffic and that is a risk I am not willing to take.
Google have some of the most powerful AI tools in the world, and its own algorithms are getting better and better. It is only a matter of time before they get really good at spotting AI-generated content (they could well be there already).
Other ways you can use Jasper AI
Jasper is not only useful for bloggers but there are many other use cases that may be of interest to you.
