Do you fancy yourself as a savvy investor?
If you have an eye for picking stocks, ETFs and Crypto investments that generate high returns for yourself. Then why not share your knowledge and expertise in return for passive income by allowing others to copy all of your trades and investments. The social trading platform Etoro has just the program that can help you do this.
The ‘Popular Investor Program’ enables talented and experienced investors to potentially generate a significant level of income on an annual basis by being copied by other clients. The majority of retail investors do not have the time to do endless research and management of their investments. They would much prefer to hand off this responsibility to someone who has a proven track record of high performance.
What Are The Requirements?
Let’s now look at the terms and conditions to see what you need to start earning. There a 4 levels to the program; Cadet, Champion, Elite and Elite Pro. To first get accepted into the Popular Investor program at the Cadet level you must have at least one other client copying your trades and your investment portfolio risk score must be 6 or less. The score is calculated for each user from 1 to 10, where 1 is the lowest possible risk, and 10 is the highest possible risk. This is to ensure popular investors are not taking outlandish risks to get high returns to attract new copiers.
Although being a Cadet gets you into the program you will not start earning income as a popular investor until you reach the Champion level. To reach this level you must have at least 10 copiers and $50k in AUM (Assets Under Management). At this point you will receive a minimum of $400 per month, this can then increase to $800 per month if your AUM is growing by at least 1% per month.
The income can really skyrocket if you manage to reach the Elite or Elite Pro levels. You can earn between 1.5–2.5% per annum of the total AUM. If you had $1 million of AUM this would equate to between €15–20k passive income per year. There are further requirements to be eligible at these levels such as Investment Management qualifications.
What is the catch?
The tricky part of this process is to get the trust of fellow investors to the point where they are willing to trust you with their capital. This will take time and effort.
There are two main ways of doing this, one of which is to engage with the community. Etoro, as mentioned, is a social trading platform where investors share knowledge and insights on all investing related topics. If you regularly contribute to the community you will start to gain followers, recognition and fingers crossed copiers.
The other is with a proven track record of success. If you can show fellow investors that you consistently are making good returns with your investments you will be more likely to gain copiers.
If this has peaked your interest, then you can follow the below process to get started on your journey. Please le me know your thoughts on this program, would you ever consider becoming a popular investor on Etoro?
